Percentage of profit is the percentage of the extra money a team get from selling the player again.

Percentage of next sale is a percentage of the whole sum.

For example, if you bought a player for £10m with either (a) 10% Percentage of profit or (b) 10% Percentage of sale, and he was sold for £20m next time, you'd get either

(a) £1m

(b) £2m

pretty straightforward, percentage of profit is a set percentage of the profit you make on that players sale, the profit is the money you sell him for - the money you paid for him. Whereas percentage off next sale is a percentage of the entire price you sell him for. E.g. you buy him for 10million and sell him a few years later for 15million. The profit is 5million. If you had a 10% profit of next sale you pay the club you bought him from 500,000. If it was a 10% of next sale you pay the club you bought him from 1.5million.
