Motherlover
All teams have bad days. For example England lost 6-2 to Hungary in 1953. Admittedly Hungary were much a better team in those days (with a couple of world-class players like Bozsik, Czibor and the phenomenal Puskas) but it was still a major upset. phnompenhandy
Now we understand! I've just checked in my game and you are absolutely right - clearly an error in the database (I'm guessing it should be 1928). Good spot!

Yeah it should be 1928, (4th June) when they lost 7-1 to Italy. They also went on to lose by the same margin to England in 1931 (those were the days)! England then went on to lose 7-1 in a return fixture in Hungary. THat Hungary team was one of the best not to win a World Cup, along with Brazil 1982.
