robbybobbybd
I read a random comment somewhere someone saying you dont need to pay signing on fees as it does not impact their decision. is this true and can you just reduce it to zero? If so, does this also apply to renewing contracts?
andy2610
In my experience yes this is true and also applies to renewing contracts although I usually just reduce the signing on fee. For example just signed Vargas who wanted a signing on fee of £750k - offered him £50k and he still signed.
Lisandro Lopez
This is more a GD question, so I shall move it. However to answer your question I have never offered a singing on fee and players still sign for me, saved loads of money that way. Yes it applies to renewals also. PETER_OLE
I never pay signing on fees, regardless of club. Never had a problem with people signing or renewing contracts. As to whether its cost me its hard to tell. I don't always get the player I'm after if there's other clubs interested, but then there could be a variety of reasons why they chose the other club
phnompenhandy
Yes, it's an exploit, and I exploit it ruthlessly. Just change their demanded SO fee to zero!
Harryseaess
From my experience in signing players, I have found that you don't have to offer any signing on fee. Just offer them the wages that they want and then you should get the player.
baker.simon
This depends IMO, ive had players who have requested a signing on fee during negotiations and i dont get them if i dont offer it although i never offer the full amount. If its not listed as a requirement then they dont get one!
