Regens?

So what is the best way to find a regen?

Is it luck, or is there a special way to do it?

I don't think FM09 has regen's in the spirit of the first CM games, where the new player is literally a re-incarnation of another player. I think the term has just stuck for any new player created by the game.

Finding the best players is usually done by scouting. If your scouts are searching countries/regions, they will find players. Using an external program like Genie Scout will tell you the best free/unprotected players instantly.

Regens will start to appear after your first season. You can tell they are regens by the fact that they have generated faces rather than blank faces or real life player pictures.

Regen names are totally random, so the regens I will have wont be in your save game. Best way is to make a scout network- send your scount to different regions and let them roam over there and make a filter such that he only scouts for young players.

Never used genie scout so no idea about it.

Genie scout is a 3rd party "cheat" tool. It tells you how good players will become, so you can buy all the best future players on the cheap when they're 16.

Get some good scouts.

I have two good scouts, 1 spanish and 1 italian and send them out to watch u19´s games in spain and italy. They find some real gems and I am finding more talent in those two countries than anywhere else.

You can find regens by searching for players of certain ages depending on what year you're in.
