Change 'hint' messages?

I'm pretty sure this isn't possible; but I'm asking for a hack or anything that lets me change the little messages when you're continuing, you know, the 'You can set your corner kick takers in priority order by...' type things?

Anyway, I've got revision to do, but I always find myself on FM 5 minutes after turning on my laptop to do it, so if I could put revision notes in the game, that'd be fab!

Actually that's a good idea, if you could change them in the future.

I think you can - they are all in a file which can possibly be edited. Try asking the boffins in the Editors' Hideaway.

There aren't any boffins in the Editors' Hideaway, there aren't even any mods.

The Hints and Tips are located within the data/hints.fmf file.

If you want to edit them you'll need to extract the hints.fmf file using the Resource Tool and copy the hints folder (along within the extracted files) into your User Data folder (The My Docs/FM09 folder by default) then edit the contents of the hints.xml file in the all or pc folder.

After editing your Hints, load the game turn off the skin cache and refresh your skin and your new hints should show.

Yeah, that's worked a charm, just a matter of collecting the revision notes, now!

(To anyone else trying this, be sure to back up your normal hints first!!)
