bowling4pete Posted May 18, 2009 Share Posted May 18, 2009 Hi i just bought a acer aspireone, i d/ld fm09 throught steam i had no problems installing it and activating the key, so when i came to playing the game(all excited) i double clicked the shortcut icon like u do and nothin happened, does anyone have any ideas how i could solve this? any help is appreciated Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
chopper99 Posted May 18, 2009 Share Posted May 18, 2009 Firstly, some questions: Are you on Vista or XP, PC or Mac? How did you get the FM icon onto your desktop when buying through Steam? Did you do it the correct way as shown below: I want to play the game without using Steam but cannot find the desktop icon (This is only if the game has been installed VIA steam) You can play it without loading up Steam by doing the following: Go to C: Program Files - Steam - Steam Apps - common - Football Manager 2009 Inside this folder you will find the FM09.exe Create a shortcut here, and drag it onto your desktop The game will now work without running steam - make sure Steam is NOT already running when you do this.
