ricki.bertolino
You don't have to play through steam. Steam is only for authenticate the game. Once you validate the product key you can start the game from a shortcut (just find the installation folder and create a shortcut to the fm.exe. I never have steam on, despite the fact that I installed the game through steam.
Administrators Neil Brock Posted May 18, 2009 Administrators Share Posted May 18, 2009 I want to play the game without using Steam but cannot find the desktop icon (This is only if the game has been installed VIA steam) You can play it without loading up Steam by doing the following: Go to C: Program Files - Steam - Steam Apps - common - Football Manager 2009 Inside this folder you will find the FM09.exe Create a shortcut here, and drag it onto your desktop The game will now work without running steam - make sure Steam is NOT already running when you do this. If you just install the game and authenticate it via Uniloc, you should be able to run it as normal.
