Sportsmanship

Has anyone noticed how players dont knock the ball out when an opposition player is injured? :confused:

I've conceded a couple of goals when my injured player (a few yards from the goalkeeper) is playing the opposition forwards onside for an easy goal.

Some players do kick the ball into touch,seen it many of times tbh,but i know what you mean,also seen some teams that play on when your player is down injured,not conceeded a goal that way yet though (thankfully)

It happens i suppose, sometimes teams do play on, and sometimes they pass to a team mate that eventually kicks it out of play, most probably something to do with the actual attribute...

I noticed this. But they only seem to not kick it out when they are on the "all out attack" but normally they kick it out.

I think it has something to do with a player's personality. One of my best players is described as "Unsporting".

Will probably have to do with the situation too, when someone gets injured and your in an attack which looks very promising they might play on rather than being a good sports... Just like real life really...

It's not even in the laws of the game. I think that people should play on. It's the referee's decision to stop the game. They do on the game, but I'm not sure if it's that common outside of the UK

I think the referee is only obliged to halt the game in cases involving head injury. In fact, I think players are specifically instructed not to knock the ball out, but to play on. This may only be in Continental competition though, and may also be just a figment of my imagination. Sure it's right(ish) though!

I think though, in England at least, 9 times out of 10, players are sporting enough to kick the ball out if they do see someone down and is genuienly injured.

i think there's a hidden sportsmanship rating which will have something to do with this.
