HL7
Ok, here's the scenario, i'm playing a friendly against River Plate (9.3 btw) and the score is 2-1 to me. We're in the last few minutes of the game and River get a penalty. The commentary states its for obstruction. I was under the impression that an obstruction was an indirect free kick and not a penalty. Not that it matters as Boruc saved the penalty but still, it's a touch annoying. Could someone clear this up for me (google appears to agree with me on this one!).
FrazT
Your interpretation is in fact right- the in game commentary line is wrong. Almost no refs nowadays will give a free kick for obstruction in the box, they will call it something else to give the penalty.
