Got the game working - not working anymore

So I've been playing FM2009 for a couple of months now. Today my computer crashed while playing and when I try to launch the game the activator.exe comes up with the spinning wheel of death saying that it needs to be installed. After a half a minute I get a crash message saying that activator.exe has crashed and a few sec's later I get that fm09 has crashed. I've already tried this thread

But I get an error msg -1073741819 and that I need to enter a valid key (already used the key once, remember? when I installed the game the first time) so no wonder that it does not work even though I copy it from Steam.

Hopefully I can get some assistance, because Im in the midst of a great game
