Can you make a striker into a forward?

Hey guys, just wondering if it is possible to turn a striker into a forward in the game? And if so how do i go about doing it?

But it doesn't give you the option to turn a striker into a forward! A forward is a striker with a free role rating of over 15, so is there anyway to increase this hidden attribute?

IIRC, training him as an AMC will often raise the Free Role attribute. Not 100% certain on that though.

I don't know about FM09, but I remember in FM07 I took an ST and retrained him as an AMC, and he eventually popped up as an AMC/FC

I would go with AMC positional training myself. To be honest though, I've never tried. I would also assume that in tandem with positional training, a player will gain in their "free roles" attribute through playing in such a position. Learning by experience if you will.

Yep, training to AM with increase his free role, whether this is increased enough to become CF depends on how much free role rating he had to start with.

Training him as AMC, and giving him free role instruction in match will do the thing
