Your Football Manager Nationality

When you take over a team in any country, do you put down your true nationality or do you just use the same nationality as where you are managing?

My reason for asking is that i believe this can have an effect on your first season in charge...

Personally i put my true nationality (Sudan)and sometimes i put england as a second nationality...

I put my true nationality (English), although once in FM06 I put myself as Greek when I started the game with AS Aris Salonika.

I put England (where I was born) and second Nationality as Rep of Ireland (where my grandma is from)

True nationality all the time, Canada (1st, where I was born) and Hong Kong (2nd, where my parents were born).

Australian (where I've lived for almost all my life), and 2nd Hong Kong (where I was born). Although it helps you get the national job for your country, I've never had the temptation to alter my nationality. It's fun to see on the VERY rare occurance that someone from Hong Kong is produced from my youth academy.

I always set myself as English, which is my true nationality. I also give myself Polish second nationality as my grandad was from there.

yeh i always put English, which is my nationality, but I still manage to usually get a lower league job in Sweden. I also enjoy it how quickly you learn the language when your managing in that nation. If only i was really that good at learning foreign languages..

I always put my true nationality which is English. I have played a game as a Uruguayan once, but thats the only time I've ever changed my nationality.

I'm born in America,so basically i'm american

But i put myself as an indian,coz i've stayed there for 13 years out of 15 years in my life.My whole family and relatives are indian too,so i put india as my 1st nationality and USA as my second

English as first Nationality with Scottish as 2nd nationality

English through and through unless I use the name of a footballing legend.

I always set myself as Danish, my true nationality. And I always give myself French second nationality because my mother is french. But whenever a create a "holiday character" he's always english for some reason

I always select my real nationalities; Main - English. Secondary - Norwegian.

Sometimes i select English 1st and Portuguese 2nd but most of the time i just select any random nationality because the game sometimes get boring if your just English.

English as my first nationality, and then Irish as my second as it is good luck.

Ok I am slightly more random. I am a NEw Zealander, but in football manager my own nationality depends on a lot of factors. Currently I am Czech and Croation playing in Slovenia. I was Bosnian playing in Serbia before that. I just like to have some fun with the nationality.

I make up all kinds of stupid names and choose nationalities that go with them.

I always have my nationality as Palestinian and scottish as my 2nd nationality. Never changes

I use English, then set a random second nationality from my expanded family bloodline, mainly Welsh, Australian or Italian.

I put Rep. of Ireland because of my heritage, then I usually put American because that is where I am from and am.

I usually do English as main then for my second, base it on where I want good knowledge of for my club.

I always put my true nationality which is English. I cannot put my true 2nd nationality though as the country is not on the game, Gibraltar. Its a shame because I heard UEFA was going to let them compete in the next round of EURO Championship qualifiers. Maybe I could get a game. Imagine that drawn in the same group as England and the first game is at Wembely, I get the ball and meg Steven Gerrard and crunch Wayne Rooney and then.............. Sorry got carried away there, I can still dream!!!

In fact if I did play for the Gibraltar national side it would have at least one distinct advantage. When I start a new game on FM I can put my past playing experience as International Footballer and I would never have to feel guilty about doing it.

English as my first nationality, then whichever country I'm starting in as second nationality.

Sometimes I use my real name and nationality, otherwise I make up names to go with different nationalities just for fun tbh

Nothing beats the feeling of watching the norwegian flag on top of the list of the "best managers ever" rating. Pure awesomeness.

i always put my true details - 1st Scottish then English with no experience. your nationality helps when you are trying to buy a player with the same nationality cause he's more likely to come to you

Same here.

Usually English or South Afican 1st because I was born in England and South African because I live here and am a citizen . My second nationality is Maltese because my mother from Malta

Cypriot first, English second. It's a reversal of my legal nationalities but I'd rather be Cypriot than English

Welsh 1st and English 2nd because my dads dad was English.

Croatian, Brazilian.

I normally play as English, 'cos I am, but on the odd occasion I do select a 2nd nationality or different 1st nationality. When playing as Eng. I just use my real name but when I change nat. I like to de-anglicise my name e.g. if playing as French: Napoleon de Jeannes or Brazilian: Nelsinho Juarez...
