Return To Treasure Island: Sign-up Thread

Hello all and welcome to my second ever sign-up. As the first one was good fun, I’ve decided to make this one a sequel. If you are unfamiliar with the first thread, you can catch up here.

To sum up briefly, last time I created two clubs (Cove Bay Pirates and Capital City Merchants), who hailed from opposite sides of a divided group of Caribbean Islands (Southern Treasure Islands (STI) and Northern Treasure Islands (NTI)). 46 forum users were placed at the clubs, which were entered into the Dutch league, and the game began. Most of the players quit their clubs fairly quickly so it was on the international stage that the rivalry was played out. STI came out on top as they captured the Gold Cup on multiple ocassions and, on a cracking CSE evening, beat their rivals in the World Cup semi-finals on the way to winning the trophy itself.

And that brings us up to the new thread. Unfortunately, the years following the World Cup were not kind to either nation. As the superstars retired, the standard of football on both sides of the islands dropped and a slow, steady decline began. The global financial crisis made things worse as the Southern half of the islands had made its fortune from gambling but nobody had the money to gamble anymore. The Northern half had earned its riches from investment but nobody was willing to invest anymore. As a result, Cove Bay and the Merchants lost their funding and were forced to pull out of the Dutch league and head back home. The glory days seemed to have disappeared forever.

But there is hope: a group of the superstars who stayed loyal to the end () have got together and taken over the coaching set-up of their national sides. Their re-emergence onto the fotballing scene has rekindled the Islanders love of the beautiful game, both in the North and the South. Both nations have decided to hold a trials to find the talent which they are sure exists. And that’s where you come in. Declare your allegiance and fill a position – this rivalry is about to begin again!

Please note:

• There are 18 places available for each nation. I may increase the number depending on demand.
  
• All players will be given a starting CA of 100 and a PA of -10.
  
• All players will be given a birth year of 1991 but you may specify the date.
  
• I intend to run the following leagues: England, Scotland, Holland, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Mexico, USA, Australia and South Korea. (Any other requests, just let me know. )
  
• You may choose whether you want to start at a top tier European side (to take advantage of the best facilites), a lower level European side (for immediate first team football) or a non-European side.
  
• To create some initial rivalry, I intend to place one STIer and one NTIer who play in the same position at the same starting club. They will be set to hate each other.
  
• I will update after international matches and I will give mid-season and end of season updates for the leagues.
  
• Please only sign up if you intend to stick with this long-term.
  
• I reserve the right to refuse anybody entry to the sign-up without giving a reason.

Yes, North America again. Once the teams are in the bi-annual Gold Cup and the latter stages of World Cup qualifying, there should be plenty of opportunities for head-to-head clashes.

This time, I've replaced Turk and Caicos Islands with STI and Montserrat with NTI. They have very few players in the original database (easy to delete) and we should see some regens popping up at English clubs every now and then.
