Expectations

Having taken my hometown team Bradford City from League 2 up to midtable Championship I have a question for people regarding expectations. Basically my board have requested I battle relegation where as I am currently on course for a midtable finish. You would think I am happy but personally I am rooting for promotion and am very disappointed with the way things have panned out.

My question is do any of you ever set yourselves really high standards despite impossible scenarios or do you all achieve what the board want and be happy with bare minimun?

I don't, I take it one game at a time, then set my targets after the christmas schedule, that's about the time the league table begins to take shape, so say I'm mid table, I'd aim for the play-offs etc.

I set high standards, that way the board pump more money into the transfer budget and I can build a team that might actually look like achieving the expectations set.

I dont believe in expectations, wether you are relegation candidates or title favourites, I think any team could end up anywhere come the end of the season.

I go for the lowest expectation possible it's safety first always...it's just how I roll

I always make sure that I am up to the boards expectations before I look to go surpass their expectations and push on.

I just go with what I feel is possible with my current team, if attempting to avoid relegation is the best I think I can do then that's what I go for.
