How do I get many players with best processing performance?

Recommended Posts

Im about to start a new save on FM07. Im going to be a chamionship side, and I want many players to be able to sign from around the world in the future, as the club develop.

I haven't really understood some of the choices your able to make when you choose your league. You can choose viewable and playable leagues, but also large/medium/small database, and load players from x country.

what leaves me with the least grey players, and keeps performance of processing as fast as possible?

Personally, I always pick large database and I don't notice too much of a difference in terms of speed.

Click on recommended settings to help decide how many leagues to run. I rarely go over the amount suggested. I think it is the number of leagues that really slow things down.

Really, it all depends on your PC capabilities. If you have a good enough PC, then definitely go large database and pick four or five countries, for a fairly quick processing game.

I've got ahigh end pc I would say, dual core at 3.0 gHz and 2 gigs of RAM (the other 2 gigs are broken). 64-bit win7. hd4850 graphics card.

I'd really like to know what's the differece between:

Selected leagues

playable leagues

database size

load all players from

which ones do I have to choose to get no grey players at all in a league I'm not playing in?

Playable leagues = you can manage in these leagues. There will be no grey players.

Viewable leagues = you can look at these leagues but not play in them. There might be grey players.

Database size = I normally always pick large. It literally just means that there will be more players in the game. If you have a high end machine, then pick large.

Load all players = Use this to load players from a certain nation into the game for managerial purposes. For instance, you might want to manage Liechtenstein for some reason. So you could load all players from there and then the option to manage their international team would be available to you.

Hope that helps.

I suggest you guys have a look through these excellent threads on another forum that a few people have written up on starting a new game etc. (some of them are written for FM2008:

To the opening poster - I believe there are also FM07 versions if you look around the site.
