I don't know too much about the fine points but the Mexican season (similar to Argentina) consists of two "seasons" (Apertura-opening and Clausura-closing) so you can actually have 2 champions in a year. Only one team is relegated each year, based on a complex formula. 2. I believe this factors into a playoff, wherein the top teams of each season (and some second place teams, I believe) play for a Cup. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
