Chinese Wino
Well i'm the manager of England and was wondering whether i could offer the U-21s job to my assistant while keeping him in that role. It sounds a bit stupid, but i was thinking of 'rewarding' him for his efforts by giving him a managerial position while maintaining him as my assistant. Is it possible? Neji
Yeah, I think they can. I had a couple of coaches while I was managing both Birmingham and England. It wasn't with the assisstant manager but I'm pretty sure I had coached doing both roles.

heathxxx
Of course you can, if they agree though. If I've ever managed a national team, my first port of call is to offer "jobs for the boys" to my current club staff. If they're staff I've had for a number of seasons at my club, it's often the case they'll follow me wherever I go, including national team jobs.
