south africa continental qualification question

so i finished season 2014/15 in sixth place in the spl table which didn't prompt a message saying i had qualified for the african cup winners' cup states i need to be third or fourth in the league depending on the winner of the south african fa cup. the top two teams qualify for the african champions' league.

now the african cup winners' cup preliminary round is drawn on jan 15th and i was drawn in this, is this because my current league position is 4th and if so is this not a mistake as surely it is the league standings from the previous season that determine continental qualification, not league position at the time the competition is drawn?

someone please help me understand how i have qualified.
