rancer890
Hello all, Since I've gotten into Football Manager, one of the databases I've truly enjoyed was a no player database. I was fascinated with what if. What if Rooney did not exist? What if no footballers existed? Who would 'replace' Rooney and other fantastic footballers on this planet today. Well, you will find out in my experiment. Database: No Player Database (9.2) Leagues: England - to BSN/BSS France - to CFA Germany - to 3rd Division Italy - to Serie C2 Spain - to Second Division B Sweden - to Second Division Romania - to Second Division N. Ireland - to Second Division Belgium - to Third Division Iceland - to First Division I will also load players from: China, New Zealand, Somalia, San Marino, Luxembourg, Montserrat The following changes to the no player db: The countries I've loaded from will receive a reputation boost, to 7000, which is comparable to the 10th best country in Europe, Turkey. The worst rep teams in the lowest division in each country will receive max training and youth facilities, youth academy, and a sugar daddy chairman, but everything else is unchanged. They are as follows: Vauxhall (England BSN) SO Cassis-Carnoux (France National) Sandhausen (German Third Division) Prato (Italy Serie C2/B) Ciudad de Santiago (Spanish Second Division B1) Koping (Swedish Second Division South Svealand) Mechel (Romanian Second League Group 2) Chimney Corner (N. Ireland Second Division) Wielsbeke (Belgian Third Division A) KS/Leiftur (Iceland First Division) Note 1: Koping have a reputation of ZERO Note 2: Koping and KS/Leiftur are amateur teams There are some objectives with this experiment: Who will dominate the new footballing world (club wise) without any players? How well will the countries fare, will all of them qualify for the 2010 World Cup? Will one of them win it? Which club above will have the greatest success? Which club will dominate their top domestic league the quickest? No player DB - here THANKS TO GeedieZ FOR THE DB. PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR RESULTS HERE... iacovone
Oooh me like Well for starters I think the majority of 'big' clubs in the loaded leagues will remain dominant largely because their of their reputations and training facilities - they should get the better regens on average and be in a stronger position to buy the best regens around the world. Over time I hope we see the lowest rep clubs (but with fantastic facilities) rise to the top. Using a no player db should see them rise quicker as their regens have the potential to be great - its just a matter of how long they can keep hold of them. Finally its my bold prediction Iceland will win a major International tournament within the first 6 they enter Good luck rancer this has potential to be both great and highly intriguing. Look forward to the results
Lower Leagues Rule
Looking forward to this one as well Who will dominate the new footballing world (club wise) without any players? AC Milan How well will the countries fare, will all of them qualify for the 2010 World Cup? Will one of them win it? New Zealand will actually make it in Which club above will have the greatest success? Which club will dominate their top domestic league the quickest? I am not sure on this one, but I will pick Sandhausen.
Whoopy D
Looks very intresting rancer, my predictions: 1. The big clubs will still dominate: Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Man Utd shouldn't have any troubles picking up the best regens. 2. New Zealand will easily qualify for WC2010 and China will make it to WC2014, none of the others will make the WC before 2022. I recon NZ will be knocked out in the group stages of WC2010 but make it to the 1/4 finals in 2014. 3. Tough call, I'd say eventually Prato will be the most successful. Initially it shouldn't take too long for the clubs from smaller nations to rise up through the leagues. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict Chimney Corner making the group stages of the Champions League by 2012

rancer890
Ok, still only in September 2008, but the Swedish and Icelandic seasons are coming to a close. So I will probably post an update from those leagues today. One of them performed very well, and the other one...not so much. And our other teams are also doing well, but won't post an update on those teams till I simulate to January 2009.

rancer890
Thanks. I've simmed to January 2009, but won't post till tomorrow. (Studying for a test tomorrow) A little teaser: (maybe guess which teams match ) Club Teams (discount Iceland and Sweden) three teams are leading their division two teams hanging around the promotion spots two teams are near the bottom, but safe for now one team is in a relegation spot Nations one team easily qualified (guess which team that is! ) one team is doing surprisingly good in the qualifiers one team eliminated already from qualifiers NOTE: China and Somalia have already been eliminated at the beginning, so discount those two nations
rancer890
NOTE: I will post most updates in a three-part series: (1) Domestic League and Europe Updates, (2) International Updates, and (3) Club updates, although international (January) and club updates (June) will only happen once per year (for teams that run from August to April anyways...). I have a habit of being a bit on the slow side with updates , so I probably won't post all the updates in one sitting or post a bit, and then keep updating (which is what I'm doing now). The Leagues and Europe January 3, 2009 Belgium Pro League Second League Third Division A Third Division B Observations: As expected, Standard is leading the league, with Club Brugge and Germinal Beerschot only 6 points behind them. The main shock is last year's finalist, Anderlecht, all the way in 13th place. They have already fired their manager. England English Premier League Coca Cola Championship Coca Cola League One Coca Cola League Two Blue Square Premier Blue Square North Blue Square South Observations: As predicted, the top 4 is where they should be - in the top 4. Manchester United seem to be running away with the league, and have dominated most games. Fulham, Wigan, Stoke, and Hull are all fighting to get out of relegation. Sheffield United and Crystal Palace are in prime position for promotion, although the season is far from over. In League Two, Luton are only 7 points from safety, and would be leading the league if not for the 30 point deduction. Control team Vauxhall are in 1st, 8 points ahead of 2nd place Stalybridge. France Ligue 1 Ligue 2 National Observations: Lyon is dominating the league, as expected, what wasn't expected was PSG at the bottom of the table...The control team is atop the French National, and 12 points ahead of 4th. Ligue 2 football seems to be a realistic target for the team. Germany First Division Second Division Third Division Observations: Bayern are leading the league by a mile...control team Sandhausen are 5 points above safety in the Third Division. Italy Serie A Serie B Serie C1/A Serie C1/B Serie C2/A Serie C2/B Serie C2/C Observations: It's very tight at the top of Serie A, with the top 4 teams separated by only 2 points. Control team Prato are 2nd in Serie C2/B, 6 points behind San Marino. The increase in reputation of the San Marino national team may have to do with their performance this season. Northern Ireland Premier Division First Division Second Division Observations: No real surprises, except for Chimney Corner, who are destroying everyone in sight...they have already won the Intermediate League Cup and the Atrium Trophy. Romania First League Second League - Group 1 Second League - Group 2 Observations: Holders CFR Cluj are only 4 points from safety. Control team Mechel are lying in the relegation zone... Spain LIGA BBVA LIGA adelante Second Division B1 Second Division B2 Second Division B3 Second Division B4 Observations: Predictably, Barca and Real are running away from the rest of the teams at the top. Ciudad de Santiago are in a safe midtable position in the Second Division B1, although they gave away future star Jorge Vigo on a free to Swedish team AIK. rancer890
Club Updates June 24, 2009 Belgium - SC Wielsbeke Third Division A Finishing Position - 3rd Other Squad Youths SC Wielsbeke were always near the top, but could not clinch a playoff spot for promotion. Look for the Belgian team to fight for promotion in 2009-2010. England - Vauxhall Motors Blue Square North Finishing Position - 1st Other Trophies Squad Youths Vauxhall dominated the Blue Square North from start to finish, and this might carry over into the Blue Square Premier. France - SO Cassis-Carnoux National Finishing Position - 3rd Other French Cup Runner-up - lost to Lyon in Final 2-1 in extra time. Squad Youths SO-Cassis Carnoux narrowly achieved promotion into Ligue 2, but made it all the way to the French Cup final against Lyon, losing 2-1 in extra time. Germany - SV Sandhausen Third Division Finishing Position - 13th Other Squad Youths Didn't finish as well as the other teams, but it's the most international team I've seen. With exception of the Icelander, everyone else has at least German as 2nd nationality. Italy - Prato Serie C2/B Finishing Position - 1st Other Squad Youths Did well in Serie C2, but might not have as much success in Serie C1. Their youths also seem weaker than the other teams. Northern Ireland - Chimney Corner Second Division Finishing Position - 1st Other Trophies Squad Youths Chimney Corner dominated the Northern Irish Second Division. They already won 4 trophies this year, and this is far from over. Their players aren't even close to reaching their potential. Romania - Mechel Second League Group 2 Finishing Position - 12th Other Squad Youths Mechel didn't have a great season, but I believe that once their players mature, they will get promoted, and challenge for a European spot in the near future. Spain - Ciudad de Santiago Second Division B1 Finishing Position - 12th Other Squad Ciudad are also a team who could have done better. Remember Jorge Vigo, their wonderkid of the future? Well, they let him go to Swedish club AIK on a free. They still have Demur at least...

Lower Leagues Rule
Marian Suleap...My Player of the Year. Interesting that a couple of leagues were completely dominated by the teams that have the Youth Facilities, but a couple of the other teams really struggled to even get anywhere near the title hunt. The top of the Leagues didn't see any major changes, ManU, Inter, Madrid, Bayern taking out their titles as would probably be expected. Any chance I can have a Screenie of my Player for the future? Also how is NZ looking in this experiment?

And no big changes for NZ. Entered the Confederations Cup and finished 2nd in a group with Brazil (1st), Spain (3rd), and South Africa (4th). Lost to Italy in the semis, and then Iraq in the 3rd place playoff. Italy defeated Brazil to claim the Confederations Cup. Currently 98th in the rankings. Lower Leagues Rule
Well at least his stats are in the right places, even if he is a bit low for the price tag (Though maybe exchange rate), He is definitely a man for the future.
rancer890
Another team to probably look at would be San Marino. Since I increased the rep of the national team, the club team will also benefit somewhat from this. They were top of Serie C2/B for a while till their late season collapse... And Luton were so close to overcoming the deficit...
AB-forever
Interesting that all the Spanish B-teams failed but that would be down to the fact that they had to use grey players because all the created youth players would play for the first team, right? Interesting observation. Yeah, your second point probably explains it.
Lower Leagues Rule
Except generally in these games the grey players are better than the regens for season 1-3 and then the regens head back past them again.

I would guess that the grey players in the Spanish Second Divison B are pretty bad
Lower Leagues Rule
Yes but remember the Regens are also created with that level of play in mind, they are worse than the greys for the first few seasons...
rancer890
Thanks for the nice bump Des. Another update just happens to be coming either today or tomorrow. The Icelandic season is nearly over, and KS/Leiftur is just above the relegation spots atm...the next couple games will determine whether they stay up or not... AB-forever
Yes but remember the Regens are also created with that level of play in mind, they are worse than the greys for the first few seasons... What else could the reason be?
