byang08
In my first season playing on patch 9.0.3 my Tottenham side finished 4th in the league and won the Euro Cup. In the same season Liverpool finished 6th in the league but won the Champions League. At the start of the second season I am surprised to discover that I have not qualified for Champions League football and instead have to play another season of Euro Cup. Can someone explain how the coefficient calculations work so that Liverpool gets the fourth spot and not me? In the first season I actually gained more coefficient points than any club in Europe. Also would it have made a difference if I finished third instead of fourth? Thanks for replies.
ftg87
You lose out on the CL spot because Liverpool won it. The winner is guaranteed a place in next years competition and if they don't qualify via their league, they do so at the expense of the lowest qualifying team, ie you in 4th
digsy11
Yeah they changed it after Everton finished fourth and Liverpool won it finishing 5th. It's to prevent 5 teams from one nation being in the competition.
