IcarusAbides
Has anyone else noticed this before?
m1234566778
Yes I have always wandered why, but it's only a friendly match.
La Furia Roja
im assuming this isnt using an editor? Very strange if it isnt?!
DanGLiverpool
Yeah it is just there so that the friendly can be played, that is all that works from that, no loans, first options or payments, just the friendly. Someone had to be picked as the parent and someone as the feeder.
IcarusAbides
Still its odd that Milan allow rivals to be a parent club.
La Furia Roja
fair enough, learn something new everyday!
Ediocy
There was a thread on this some time back. Someone had shed light on this, and that basically this parent-feeder club relationship is purely in the game to represent the real-life friendly match that is organized between Milan and Juventus called the Trofeo Luigi Berlusconi. In real-life, they have no parent-feeder club relationship. Edit: Here is a link to the wiki article on this friendly - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trofeo_Luigi_Berlusconi
ThE BoMBeR
There was a thread on this some time back. Edit: Here is a link to the wiki article on this friendly - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trofeo_Luigi_Berlusconi exactly what he said... on FM it is represented as parent-feeder... irl it is not... However it is interesting why they made Juve the parent. Some years ago Buffon got injured badly in the shoulder when playing this trophy (if I'm not mistaken by Kaka) so Galliani decided to loan Juve the GK Abbiati for a season for free... Abbiati was playing crap at that time at Milan but he had a GREAT season at Juve so much that they wanted to keep him but that didn't happen!
JimbobWWFC
Maybe Juve are the parent club because the game needs to be played in Milan. If Milan were the parent club, wouldn't the game need to be played at Juve's ground because they are the feeder club?
Stevicus
Maybe this started because Juventus were relegated a couple of years ago?
Ediocy
Maybe this started because Juventus were relegated a couple of years ago? Read the wiki article I had linked in my post above. This tradition is in no way a result of Juventus' recent relegation.
ThE BoMBeR
Maybe this started because Juventus were relegated a couple of years ago? Nope... The Luigi Berlusconi is a long tradition started many years ago
IcarusAbides
Cheers for the info guys, the abbiati loan is interesting and not something id heard about before.
IbrahimAliMaher
I always wondered about this. I think it gives Juve increased scouting knowledge too, I know cos I stupidly cancelled it...I didn't see why I would want to play Milan reserves every season, seemed kinda pointless
Valo
When I was managing Milan I had the friendly away from home
muncherdave
Juventus need to be set as the parent club so the game can be played at the San Siro every year, I'm pretty sure friendlies always get played with the feeder club hosting the games
La Furia Roja
thats exactly what it states "AC Milan will host a friendly every year....."
