Nik_Dut
Hi, I just wonder maybe someone can give me the answer here. Why is Perugia(Serie C) playing in Italian Cup ? Isn't Italian Cup is for Serie A and Serie B teams, and there is already Serie C Cup for Serie C teams ?
AB-forever
This is just a guess, but isn't the Italian Cup (Coppa Italia) for everyone, just like the FA Cup in England?
Nik_Dut
OIC. But again, if the Copa is for everyone, then why is there a Serie C Cup ? And Perugia isn't participating in the Serie C Cup ? I really wanna know. Thanks.
AB-forever
Sorry, Nik_Dut according to Wikipedia you're completely right. Since 2007-08 only Serie A and B teams participate in the Coppa Italia. Which season are you in? Maybe something special happened in 2008-09 IRL.
JimbobWWFC
Information on the Wikipedia Entry for Coppa Italia 2008-09. "In the previous year, the number of teams participating was reduced to only 42: the teams in Serie A and Serie B. For 2008–09, that number was expanded to 78 with the addition of 18 clubs from Lega Pro Prima Divisione (formerly Serie C1), 9 clubs from Lega Pro Seconda Divisione (formerly Serie C2) and 9 clubs from Serie D." Nik_Dut
I'm starting fresh, season 2008-2009, and I'm managing Perugia. Already beaten 2 Serie A outfit, and i'm really excited. But then if that is a bug, then it will be really unrealistic. and, not only Perugia, for ALMOST all serie C participating too on qualifying round.
