si1989si
In 2009/2010 i finished a respectable 17th in the Premiership(southampton football club) So was baffled to find myself in the Euro cup, on checking the teams history it said i had finished in 6th! although going back to the league table i clearly finished 17th with 40 points. Bug or other explanation?
canvey!!
Did you get a message saying that you had qualified through the fair play league? There is usually an end-of-season summary that tells you who has qualified for what and why. I'd say that the 6th placed finish is given because you qualified for Europe through the fair-play league, which would rank you 6th out of all teams. It does sound weird though, and at least part of it needs to be fixed. Try scooting over to the Bugs Forum, read this, and if you don't find a current thread, start a new one there. dafuge
Just an idea, did you look at 'history - league positions'? If this is the case, this screen actually shows you your highest league position of the season, not your final position.

dafuge
Thats abit stupid. I agree. The final league positions for the season cannot be found on this screen, instead you need to go 'history - competitions - domestic leagues (via a tab)'. I hope this is something that will be changed for FM10.
viperk1
si1989si - did you make it to any of the cup finals?
si1989si
no, no cup finals and no messages about fair play. yes 6th would actually be highest league position but still cant see why im in europe
si1989si
main question i have really is there any way to find out how i qualified?
dafuge
It'll be through the fair play league. I imagine you would have got a message about it in your inbox, at least for England winning an extra place via it.
si1989si
England did not win a place by it, Serbia and someone else did, this is what seemed most confusing. I can get some screenshots but will take me a while to work out how to upload them.
si1989si
there is nothing it can be apart from fair play, but i know England werent awarded the extra places and i didnt have the best record ever, a couple of reds a few yellow card limits and lots of yellows
dafuge
Like canvey said earlier, do you still have the end of season summary with the continental qualification list in it?
Ireland
it happened to me once played as arsenal in the first season finished like 15th and qualified for europe didn't win a thing, but i do remember something about an extra space in fair play
