The Italian F.A was unavailable for comment. The rumour is, new owner of Milan, Gregory McKenzie, is planning to now move the club to Wales and compete in the Welsh Premier League. MORE BREAKING NEWS – 17th June 2007 Major clubs around the world have applied to take part in the WPL 2007/08 season. The list of teams in the WPL season will be announced shortly. EVEN MORE BREAKING NEWS – 18th June 2007 The list has been published: Welsh Premier Division AC Milan Inter Roma Sevilla Barcelona Real Madrid Celtic Rangers Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool Man Utd FC Bayern Fenerbache Valencia Lyon Benfica Porto The second division is currently filled with the current teams competing in the league from last year. 4 former WPL teams have been moved to the EPL. Just entering the start of August - I cant give much away but there have been some decent signings. Just to sort the qualification for Europe out as I didn't explain it very well: Champions get a Champion Leagues spot (Start from First Round Qualyfying) Runners up gain entry to the Euro Cup Second Qualyfying round. Milan 3) Fenerbache Rangers dominated the group and had a 100% record. AC just edged Fenerbache to 2nd place with a late 4-2 win over Roberto Carlos’s new side. Rangers and AC qualify! Group B 1) Chelsea 2) Man Utd 3) Liverpool It was a two horse race as Liverpool only managed to pick up a point which came at home in a 0-0 draw to Man Utd. Chelsea took the group by two points. Chelsea and Man United qualify! Group C 1) Sevilla 2) Inter 3) Lyon Sevilla scraped the group on goals scored in a really tight group with a point’s difference between top and bottom. Sevilla qualify! Group D 1) Benfica 2) Real Madrid 3) Barcelona The most surprising group of the lot. Barca failed to pick up a point and got beat embarrassingly, 5-1, against Benfica, Freddy Adu scoring four – a new record for the new Welsh Challenge Cup. Benfica qualify! Group E 1) Celtic 2) Roma 3) FC Bayern The weakest group by far to be honest. Celtic easily progressed though. Group F 1) Arsenal 2) Valencia 3) Porto 2 words. Arsenal qualify. QUARTER FINALS Rangers 1-2 Man Utd AC Milan 1-0 Chelsea Sevilla 3-6 Benfica Arsenal 3-2 Celtic SEMI FINALS Man Utd 4-0 Arsenal Benfica 3-4 A.C. Milan WELSH CHALLENGE CUP GRAND FINAL Man Utd vs. A.C. Milan Man Utd have the better first half but can’t find the lead. Man Utd search for a goal. And it comes. Nani delivers the ball and it plonks on Ferdinand’s head. It finds the net. 1-0 United with 10 minutes to go. A.C. Milan push for the equaliser and the get it. Genaro Gattuso hits a screamer from 40 yards out and it beats Van Der Sar. Extra-Time. Extra Time passes slowly and not many shot get on target. PENALTIES! Man Utd to take second. Gattuso steps up – SCORES!!! Rooney steps up – SCORES!!! Kaka steps up – SCORES!!! Tevez steps up – HITS THE POST!! Maldini steps up – SCORES!! Nani puts the ball on the spot…….SCORES!! Pirlo takes a massive run up – SCORES!!!
