3D or 2D That is the question?

Do you use the new 3D engine or the 2D?

And explain why.

Pretty sure there are a few other threads like this about, I expect a search will dig them up

At the moment I am using 3D because it looks alot better in the new patch.

I used to use 2D as then the ME inadequacies were less noticeable.

i normally use 2d as it is faster however lately i am being more impatient and using commentary only, risky but still....

For general games it's just commentary, I am in a phase atm where I wanna get as far as possible

For big games 2D, this would be against top 8 teams or important cup matches etc.

For massive games 3D, very top sides, later stages cup matches etc.

3D engine, just because I see no reason not to. It adds excitement and enjoyment seeing good moves build up and out-of-the-blue rockets for me.

3D engine in 9.3 is amazing - i can't believe the changes it's like a complete overhaul everything is running smooth and i've had 7 games in the new version and hit the bar once!! and defenders actually are more aware and i've also scored from a direct freekick

2D as my computer hasn't got a good enough graphics card it just shows the pitch as black. Anyone know how much a new graphics card that 3D will work with/on is?

Gotta say, it looks a lot better than it did before, I quite like it.

Strongly prefer 2D though.

AGP or PCI?

anyway pci and a decent one can be as low as £45-75

my geforce 8800GT 512mb pci-E cost me 129 but that was last year when it was new

i can't fault my card for performance

i only use 3d because it seems to me that the 2d engine is slower than in fm08. its not smooth, it kinda lags

For me ,3D - Low spec laptop. 9.3.0 applied = improved graphics, Improved speed. Awesome. Now I can finally play

Although it didn't actually influence my decision regards to buying FM09, I'm actually quite impressed with it.

I now see in full panoramic cinemascope technicolour when my striker gets clean through, rounds the keeper... and misses!!!

I love The 3d and always will but i do now and again go to 2d but its rare

I started out with 3d, even got Leopard for my Mac so I could play (plus, it's got a host of other cool features that I had been wanting), but as I'm sure many have noticed, the match engines seem different, and I can also get a better sense of tactics on 2d, so I reverted to those infamous dots for now...Of course, I'm not denying that the 3d is a fantastic feature

Didnt like the 3D at first but its grown on me. Going back to watching blobs running around on 2D just doesnt seem so exciting anymore

I play 3D because it's better to watch and you can see more of what's happening on the park and just how the players go about implementing your tactics and formations. Simple as that.

I play 3D due to the fact that I can see what the players are actually doing on the pitch and not trying to work out what the dots are meant to do

This patch may just have got me back into FM09!

2D for me...

2D but I'll check if with the new patch. No probs with my PC, I've just always liked the dots on my screen ^_^.
