mattshez Posted February 26, 2009 Share Posted February 26, 2009 i play 4 2 3 1 and at the end of last season he has been whining for a place in the first team. i think hes a good player personally but i doubt he is 100% ready for the role of consistant first team football. (he can play AMC/R and MC/R) the problem is i like to keep a fiarly large squad and rotate a little bit so i dont get short on players if an injury crisis hits, for example i have 5 first team cms fighting for 2 places, i have the same for players who can play on the right wing (or both) and i feel giving him a chance limits others. his potential is to be as good as a certain young ex-barca forward and letting him go could come back to bite me as crystal palace (4th place for the last 2 years) have put in an equiry. problem is i put him in for the final 3 games and he really did fight for his place and did well in all 3 games, need advice lads, what do you tyhink of the player? Particularly if they are reaching 30. Or if you do sell him, whack in a buy back or a 50% of next sale clause so you can get him back at some point in the future. moneyhero Posted February 26, 2009 Share Posted February 26, 2009 No Brainer with those stats at that age got to stay. each to their own but 5 players for two spots is extreme, i understand being a big club in all comps you need a big squad, but id personally have 3 quality first team and one great prospect (such as ur regen) and use the carling cup and early fa as a chance to blood the youth through. this way the prospects see more first team action in the league due to injurys etc and progress quicker Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
