Thormation
Some Caribbean dude is pumping monies into my Merthyr Tydfil side as if it was a Coral roulette machine. He's also given us youth facilities 'amongst the best in the world', which was nice of him. But to what extent will this effect the standard of player that comes through the youth set-up next season? Are they going to be the same standard as the players that come through at Ajax and United? That would be pretty cool...
Neil Peters
It may be possible, but I dont know tbh, I dont think they would stay long depending what league your in, the top clubs would snap them up
BobMUFC08
Thats always the way ive seen it, the better youth facilities you've got the better regens come through.
fatboyjohnmulhern
i have a feeling that the repuatition influencs the standard of youngsters coming through your ranks, becsause i good player will rather play at a league club with slightly less training facilities, in order to play for a better players
Campbell1892
i never get tycoons coming in is it based on pure luck?
SCIAG
I think it's solely down to youth facilities.

RT--
Maybe you could pass on this Caribbean guy's number? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_of_wales/7898755.stm
AB-forever
Reputation also influences the qualify of youth players coming through.
small Mac
AB makes a good point, reputation is very significant in the quality of youths, maybe even more important than youth facilities.
outlaw640
I always thought it was a combo of reputation, youth facilities, location and league rep. As Merthyr play in the Welsh league, I would have thought you would have got good players for your level as most promising welsh youth would be more likely to go to swansea or cardiff. (not IRL just in game) As there is an attractiveness stat in the editor for places, I think this might come into it as well. Having a youth academy definatley helps, as your players develop more before they come into your youth team. You will probably get some good youth based on the strength of your facilities alone though.
fatboyjohnmulhern
Merthyr Tysdel dont play in welsh league, they are welsh like cardiff and wrexham they play in england.
Thormation
Yeah, Merthyr are loving life in the Conference South, definately don't play in the Welsh league. Assuming I make to the end of the season, I'll come back with any sick youth players that come through. Or awful ones.. either way.
easternhawk2
Merthyr aren't in the Blue Square South
hamilton162
They don't start off there, but i think he may be attempting dafuge's challenge
outlaw640
Oh sorry, from that link that was sent I assumed they were in the welsh leagues? Well, still, I doubt the league rep of below the BSN/S is much higher.
jayahr
Anyway, the quality of your youth academy will certainly have an impact, although we are always just talking about probabilities here. So you might get lucky that quite a few youngster will come through who should be good enough further up the ranks as well. Good luck
Thormation
Merthyr aren't in the Blue Square South I meant my Merthyr; as far as I'm concerned they're the only one in existance.
