scoot4nat
256MB ATI® Radeon™ HD 3450 graphics card 512MB nVidia GeForce 9800GT graphics card Which is best? nVidia seems to be more expensive.
Ched
You'll want to post this in the OTF section of the forums, as this isn't really linked to FM. http://community.sigames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15 There's bound to be someone there who'll know the answer

You have 512mb card and 256mb card...no brainer there , plus Nvidia was always way more reliable then any ATI i ever had.Just make sure that your PS can handle it, so you don't burn out your Mobo. outlaw640
Depends what you are using it for, just for FM09, save money and buy the ATI. If you are planning on doing any serious gaming and have the dough, buy the 9800GT. mlp071, hate to sound like a fanboy but ATI have caught up and even exceeded nvidia in recent years. Question here was between 2 specific VC's and between those two, Nvidia one is superior.Does he need that ? I don't know. ATI cards are fine ,except they produce to much heat for my taste. But it's Catalyst drivers that always gave me problems, with last one that i tried being with HD 4850. On the other hand ,Nvidia ones suck up more power, so it's a really up to what you can sacrifice in your system.
outlaw640
True, instead of saying I hate to sound like a fanboy, I should have shut my mouth. I wonder if the OP will come back and tell us which one he went for.
skingegg
I got a nVidia 9800GT 1gb card free with my pc and its pretty good. Can run almost all games on v.high spec.
Spikey
9800GT is far and away the better card in comparison to the HD3450 but probably overkill for FM09. If you're planning on playing other games with more advanced graphics the 9800GT is the way to go.
scoot4nat
I've gone for the NvIdia - although possibly overkill for FM, by the sound of things it will stand me in good stead for the future. Many thanks for your replies
outlaw640
Yeah deffo, will be good for FM2012 haha
Quackje
For football manager you won't notice the difference between them but if you want to do other games I would suggest nVidia one, also at the moment you can only use nVidia cards for GPUGRID although folding@home works on ATi cards. Harryohh
No competition the 9800GT is much better. A few people have correctly pointed out that if this is just for FM then save money and get the 3450 which is a decent card.
