minisav
My brother has already started a game with Aberdeen and I prefer to do challenges which means I use random teams anyway.
Spaniard
I have managed Crawley & Sutton - both teams are about 8-9 miles away, sutton were heroic! what a struggle
Nebu
Played my team alot, luckily they're in the top national league though, so often it wont be right from the start as I mostly do llm games.
smithers08
I could edit FM09 and manage my local team (Consett) , Might do it when the new patch is released . Done it last year in FM08 and was ok.

N_J_C_M
My most local (3 London Underground stops) team is Leyton Orient, who I manage occasionaly.
stuboy
Never managed my local team, usually start of at some lower league continental team, keep thinking I will apply for my favourite teams job but never have done, there is so much more left to achieve at mighty Cesena
bean824
My most local team is Brentford, although I hate them with a passion. I support Barnet, who are probably the 5th or 6th nearest to me, but are the team who I've been taken to see all my life. And I suppose they are still 'local' as they are in the same city. Orion Dean
Newcastle United is my local team but i prefer to play as Gateshead / Blyth in lower league games

santy001
My most local team is Stoke City (before anyone chimes in, Stoke are actually closer to me than Port Vale who are at the other end of the city) and I always play with them. It's been great to watch them go from relegation contenders on FM07 to, relegation contenders on FM09 just in the premiership lol.

alexw
Well, I used to live in Droylsden and I took them to the PL in FM 07 Ditto Glossop (with the use of an editor to put them in a playable league) in the same game.
Pauljs
My local team is Tranmere but I support Liverpool I have got to the premiership and qualified for the champions league and won the FA Cup and League Cup on FM with Tranmere but not on FM09 yet

small Mac
My local team are too low level, so decided on Bromley. Who is your local team? Mine are also Bromley, which is convenient as they've been playable since FM08 (promoted to conference south) without the need for editor intervention. r0x0r
My local team is also my favourite side AND the easy option side, Arsenal. When i play lower down the hierarchy, I do aim for a london team though so they are semi local.
TtotheOtotheM
My local team are Brora Rangers, i live about 15 minutes from them. easternhawk2
My closest team is probably Cambridge United but i tend to go with who I support which is Havant and W.
mlawrence00
I like managing the smaller, local, village teams. Just wish I knew how to put my local team, Guildford (amateur) into the playable leagues!

brambleten
My local team (on the game) is Carlisle, but i refuse to use them as i really have no love for them. have played as Doncaster in the past, who were my previous local team

SlayerX
Hamilton are in the SPL, so there's no chance of me going them, besides I don't really like them anyway. From CM4 onwards I went Falkirk (No idea why) then when they got promoted to the SPL I jumped ship to Raith Rovers because they were the first team that I chose when scottish clubs came into the equation. I'm tired of going Raith Rovers and having little or no success so in Football Manager 2009 I decided to pick a Scottish team that had the best badge, so I'm now East Fife. joshmay07
First save i always do is with the mighty YTFC which is where i live all of 5 mins away from the lushious huish park
Dalimyr
For those who say they don't have a local club, surely you must have one somewhere in your locality? I used to live in Oban over on the west coast of Scotland. The nearest playable sides would probably be in Glasgow, nearly 100 miles away. The nearest side in the game, playable or not, is probably Fort William, itself still 45 miles away. Some of us really do live out in the middle of nowhere Now I live in Galashiels, roughly halfway between Edinburgh and the Scotland/England border. My local team (Gala Fairydean) are in it, but not playable. For playable sides, I'm looking at teams 30 miles to the north, up in Edinburgh, and I don't really consider that "local". markcator3006
The most local professional team for me is Aberdeen. Hershie
I can't choose Borehamwood, but do if they ever get promoted to BSS. Have occasionally managed Watford though; had great success with them on FM07.
