Hi:)

Because I'm cool(), I decided to search my user name on Google. I clicked on all of them, including the sixth result down. I thought I knew what it was going to be, as I made the Should I Buy/Sell Thread for FM08, in the GPTG. So, when I clicked on it, I was surpirsed to see my exact post, by someone with my exact username, but on fitness.com website. Here is the link the the thread I found there:

http://sports.fitness.com/26430-official-fm08-should-i-buy-sell-thread.html

The following link will contain player naming, as it is in the GPTG. Here (http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php?t=28075) is the thread that I really made, in the GPTG last year.

I don't know if anyone has noted this before, but I don't think the thought of another forum taking my posts and I'm sure others don't either.

Anyone from SI/SEGA have anything to say about this, and wether it is known?

Thanks:thup:

Purefun is also on the page.

I do the same thing occasionally and found my own username on that site, it seems something odd is indeed going on.

Seeing as the likes of Tesco, Facebook (Facebook depravedly so, if that's a word), Sky and every other company have every single bit of info on us and gleefully sell it on to anyone who'll take it, I'm not bothered.

Well not for the original thing imo, as it is to do with these forums, and I didn't want to post in OTF because I'm scared of them.

The spam afterwards, however, is in the wrong forum. I've been bullied in two threads tonight, actually:(:D

*strictly speaking* for the longer posts you can claim copyright, although despite having evidence stored on this forum that you are the copyright holder the fact that you've released it publically with no expectation or notice of adherence to copyright protection you'd be laughed out of... everywhere. just answering the question of legal rights :p

I get this sorta thing a lot on old domains that I've owned where someone snatches it up in an attempt to take advantage of existing links to the site or high pagerank and alexa rank in order to make money from advertising and/or to sell on the domain. It's known as 'Domaining' or, if they do it to exploit google or seach engines more specifically 'Spamdexing'.
Have to give these guys credit though - most I've seen will just put up a page of ads with generic nonsense content full of links (Spamdexing) or one of the splash pages of search ads with a 'buy this domain' - what they've done is at least a little inventive if annoying!
