Regen

I remember in the old version you could open wordpad and type in some sort of code that would generate regens with certain names in the future? Something along the lines of:

""Joe""""Kinnear""""11/05/93""""Newcastle""""ST""""151""199""

Or something like that?

Anyone remember as i'd like to add a couple of regens in.

No, don't remember that. But you can add in players to the database via the editor and edit all of their stats etc. Not sure if they appear as regen pictures though and you have to assign them to a team.

Yea I remember that. Although, it was totally random when they entered, so I don't think the birth date was needed. I don't think it works in FM09.

The code from FM2005 was:

"FUTURE_REGEN" "First Name" "Common Name" "Surname" "Date of birth dd-mm-yyyy" "Nationality" "Favourite Team"

e.g."FUTURE_REGEN" "Craig" "" "Hunter" "09-04-1979" "Scotland" "Rangers FC"

Should still work, unless its been taken out.

The player should normally appear at their favourtie team, but not always though.

this has worked for me in my past game, he was awful though

there used to be somthin gin the editor that siad create future regen? thats no longer there, i made a future Andrey kanchelskis with 20 for pace. needless to say i never signed him.

I think you have to save it as a wordpad/notepad document and then place it in the db's edt folder, obviously save it as an .edt.

If i'm right in saying , there is another way. Simply going on the editor and giving the players birthdates younger than 14 as the game only recognise players older than 13 in the game. So creating players, regens that way would allow you to give them good PA and CA. Not sure if it works.

I'll try this for FM09. I'm pretty sure it doesn't work though, because IIRC, there was a thread for FM08 about it, and it didn't work.

Does it require a new game? If I create a file with that there, do I need to name it anything in particular, or do I just put it in there?

I managed to pick up FM05 a few months back for a bargain! £1 iirc

Yes it needs to be a new game and the file has to be ticked in the extra files menu.

It did work with FM08 - Though I came through as a Nigerian born Englishman at Charlton, when I put my Nationality down as English and club as Man Utd.

yes i do have proof cos i had a legend ddt file made for the 07 game and i use that sometime. i'll upload some pictures tomorrow, can't be arsed right now. sorry

yeh lets see some pictures and proof. i remember doing it for fm05 aswell and made a team of regens altho my luck is tht none of them came thru the youth system at my team and ended up being mixed PA's

I actually didn't. I put a guy in the folder, named him NepentheZ of NepentheZville - However, it has been confirmed that a new game must be started for it to take effect. So I wont be getting him through

Im new on here, Can I ask how do you find regens, how would you know who is a regen.

A regen is a player or staff member that the game makes up, after every season when you get a new youth intake they are all regens, and any player who has a generated player picture is a regen.

Just to let you know and to keep this near the top.

I am currently trying this and am about to start a new game.

If this works, I will startv a sign-up involving this.

Has anyone got this working for 09?

It doesn't find the .edt file on 09 for me but I put it in the 08 folder and it found it but the players have not regenerated.

My code was

"FUTURE_REGEN" "Wobill" "" "Luman" "22.04.93" "Preston"

I then repeated this but they have not spawned. Any help would be much appreciated

EDIT: I just realised that I have missed out the nationalitys. This must be stopping it from working.

Will edit it and try again now and then, update.
